Say "Yes" to Major Donors There are times when a community-based charity may have to say "No" to a potential donor. "No, we cannot accept the gift of your old gas station property because of the environmental issues involved," or "No, we cannot set the income interest on your charitable remainder trust at 15%." An overly restrictive gift acceptance policy could be construed as a "No." Not offering donor advised funds with an Open Architecture™ arrangement is another way of saying "No" to many of your major donors.
